New York Giants edge rusher Brian Burns is believed to have torn his ACL in Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport.
If the injury is confirmed, New York would lose Burns for the season.
The Giants' standout edge rusher played Sunday's game despite dealing with an ankle injury that kept him out of practice all week.
Burns suffered the injury Sunday while rushing the passer on a fourth-quarter play. He went to the ground and appeared to be in serious pain as the Giants staff examined him.
Head coach John Harbaugh was hopeful after the game that Burns had avoided a severe injury but said the veteran would need an MRI to confirm.
Burns would be the second significant player the Giants lose to a season-ending injury in as many weeks, after Jaxson Dart recently underwent knee surgery. Dart's injury is expected to keep him out for the rest of the regular season, though he could potentially return during the postseason if New York makes it.
Burns registered a career-high 16.5 sacks last season but didn't record a sack through three games to start the 2026 campaign. The three-time Pro Bowler has been an iron man with the Giants, never missing a game since joining the team in 2024.
