New York Giants edge rusher Brian Burns is believed to have suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport.
Burns would be lost for the season if the injury is confirmed.
The Giants' standout edge rusher played Sunday's game despite dealing with an ankle injury that kept him out of practice all week.
Burns was injured while rushing the passer on a fourth-quarter play. He went down to the ground and appeared to be in serious pain as he was examined by Giants staff.
Head coach John Harbaugh was hopeful postgame that Burns had avoided a severe injury, but said the veteran would need to get an MRI first to confirm.
Burns would be the second significant player the Giants lose to a season-ending injury in as many weeks, after Jaxson Dart underwent knee surgery last week. Dart's injury is expected to keep him out for the remainder of the regular season with a chance he could return during the postseason if the Giants make it.
Burns registered a career-high 16.5 sacks last season, but was held without a sack through three games to start the 2026 campaign. The three-time Pro Bowler has been an iron man with the Giants, never missing a game since joining the team in 2024.
