Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley told reporters after Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs that running back De'Von Achane's knee injury might be serious.
"To be honest with you, it does not sound optimistic," Hafley said, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Achane suffered the ailment while being tackled awkwardly during the first quarter. He was escorted to the locker room and didn't return, though he did come back to Miami's sideline without his helmet and pads in the second half.

The 24-year-old recorded three carries for 17 yards before leaving the game. Ollie Gordon took over as Miami's primary rusher with fellow running back Jaylen Wright inactive due to a foot injury.
Achane posted 31 carries for 110 yards over the team's first two games while adding seven receptions for 49 yards. He signed a four-year, $64-million contract extension with the Dolphins this offseason, making him one of the league's highest-paid running backs.
Miami fell to 0-3 for the second consecutive season with Sunday's loss. The Dolphins will head to Minnesota to take on the Vikings in Week 4.
