Los Angeles Rams star Myles Garrett was provided a six-week timeline to return after his knee surgery, sources told ESPN's Ian Rapoport.
Garrett underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and was placed on IR after the Rams' season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos marks the second contest that Garrett will miss.
The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, who was acquired in a stunning trade with the Cleveland Browns during the offseason, wants to return quicker than his timeline but the Rams don't plan to rush him, Rapoport adds.
Garrett was bothered by the knee injury for much of training camp and the Week 1 loss, leading to the decision for him to have a procedure done. The 30-year-old was made a non-factor in his only game of the season, failing to record a tackle or sack in 40 defensive snaps against the 49ers.
Meanwhile, Rams star receiver Puka Nacua may return in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Nacua has reportedly been bothered by a groin injury that has limited his explosiveness. He missed the team's Week 2 win over the New York Giants and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Los Angeles is in the midst of a tough three-game stretch, with matchups against the Broncos, Eagles, and Buffalo Bills approaching.
