Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a dislocated left elbow in Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, head coach Dan Quinn confirmed postgame, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic.
X-rays on Daniels' elbow showed no fracture, but he's slated to undergo more tests Monday, Quinn added.
Quinn also suggested that Daniels will miss time, saying, "We will rally so hard around Marcus (Mariota) until Jayden is back," according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.
Daniels sustained the injury on the final play of the first half. The third-year passer tripped after receiving the snap and used his left arm to maintain balance. His elbow appeared to bend backwards, and he quickly threw the ball away. Daniels then immediately grabbed his arm and fell to the ground before trainers came to evaluate him.
He was carted off with an air cast over his elbow moments later.
The Commanders had elected to try for a touchdown from the Cowboys' 1-yard line with three seconds left in the half instead of settling for a field goal.
Daniels' latest injury marks the second time in as many years that he's dislocated his left elbow.
