Seattle Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori won't play in Wednesday's season-opening matchup against the New England Patriots due to an ankle injury, the team announced before kickoff.

A standout member of the Seahawks' Super Bowl LX defense, Emmanwori was initially deemed questionable after being limited in practice throughout the week.

Emmanwori underwent arthroscopic surgery on his ankle this offseason after the injury continued to bother him while he ramped up for training camp.

The 2025 second-round pick had a productive rookie season, recording 81 tackles, the third most on the team. Emmanwori also recorded 11 pass breakups, one interception, 2.5 sacks, and nine tackles for a loss.

Meanwhile, the Patriots will be without running back Treveyon Henderson, who the club ruled out earlier this week due to an ankle injury.
