Indianapolis Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner attempted to clear up any confusion about his age on the final day of minicamp.

"I'm 24, by the way," Gardner said last week, according to ESPN's Stephen Holder.

"It's crazy that I'm saying this once again," Gardner added.

Multiple online sources, including Pro Football Reference, Pro Football Focus, and Yahoo Sports, have listed Gardner's birthdate as Aug. 31, 2000.

However, the two-time Pro Bowler was actually born on Aug. 31, 2001.

"When it comes to the paperwork and everything I've signed, it all says '01," Gardner said, according to The Athletic's James Boyd. "I don't know where or how it got messed up unless people just get it straight from Google."

A team spokesperson said the Colts have listed Gardner's birthday correctly in their material since acquiring the standout defensive back from the New York Jets in November 2025, per Holder.

A calf injury limited Gardner to just four games with Indy last season. The Colts were tied for the league's best record at the time of the blockbuster deal but lost their final seven contest and missed the playoffs.

Gardner was also surprised to learn that his age was incorrectly listed in EA Sports' Madden NFL, a game he avidly plays.

"It's wrong in Madden, too? That's crazy because I never checked," he said, per Boyd.
