Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur isn't fretting about the starting quarterback job as the team's offseason program wraps up.

"I'm not really concerned about QB1 right now," LaFleur said Wednesday, according to team website writer Darren Urban. "I'm concerned about these guys reporting (to training camp).

"Really, I'm concerned about them for the next 40 days and what they are doing … you can't take steps backward, and that's not just the quarterbacks. That's all these guys."

Jacoby Brissett, who the Cardinals reportedly told would be the starter in 2026, skipped voluntary practices in May while seeking a new contract. His current $6.3-million average annual salary ranks 32nd among all NFL quarterbacks, behind backups such as Marcus Mariota and Davis Mills, according to Over The Cap.

The 33-year-old showed up for the start of mandatory minicamp but didn't participate in drills and watched from the sidelines. Gardner Minshew has taken most of the first-team reps this offseason after signing a one-year, $8.25-million deal in March.

Arizona also has Carson Beck and Kedon Slovis on its quarterback depth chart. Selected in the third round of the 2026 draft out of Miami, Beck led the Hurricanes to the national title game last season.

LaFleur, entering his first season as Cardinals head coach after three years as the Los Angeles Rams' offensive coordinator, canceled the final day of minicamp on Wednesday following 10 practices over the last couple of months.

"We don't play again until September," LaFleur added about the signal-caller situation. "It is June, whatever-it-is. Not worried about (the QB depth chart) right now."

Brissett started the final 12 games of Arizona's 2025 campaign, finishing with a 1-11 record. He also threw for 3,366 yards with 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2025.

The Cardinals have missed the playoffs in four consecutive seasons, while their 19-49 record during that stretch is tied with the Tennessee Titans for the league's worst mark.
