The Chicago Bears are trading wideout DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Bears will receive a 2026 second-round pick while Buffalo gets Moore and a 2026 fifth-round selection, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The deal can't be made official until the start of the new league year March 11.

Moore spent the past three seasons in Chicago after being acquired from the Carolina Panthers in a trade package for the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The veteran is under contract through the 2029 season.

The 28-year-old wideout emerged as a No. 1 receiver with the Bears. He racked up 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns in 2023, but his production dipped in the following two seasons despite being one of Caleb Williams' favorite targets.

The trade provides 2024 MVP Josh Allen with a top wideout after the Bills recorded the ninth-fewest receiving yards (2,107) by wide receivers in 2025, per NFL senior researcher Tony Holzman-Escareno. Moore will headline a Bills receiving corps that includes Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, and Joshua Palmer.

Moore reunites with Bills head coach Joe Brady. The Maryland product exceeded 1,000 yards when Brady served as Panthers offensive coordinator in 2020 and 2021.

Moving on from Moore allows the Bears to create up to $16.5 million in cap space. Meanwhile, Buffalo takes on Moore’s $24.5 million salary for the 2026 season and assumes the $15.5-million guarantee in his contract for 2027, per Over the Cap.

Chicago's pass-catching group features a young nucleus. Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, and Colston Loveland are expected to see plenty of targets.
