Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid poured cold water on a possible reunion with wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

"We go through everything and everybody. That's how (general manager) Brett (Veach) does," Reid said Friday when asked about Hill potentially returning to the Chiefs. "I don't even know if Tyreek is healthy right now to do anything. I'm sure he's working hard on that part of it and trying to get that all straightened out.

"But we talk about everything, so there's nothing happening there."

Hill spent the first six seasons of his career in Kansas City. Drafted 165th overall in 2016, he proved to be a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses thanks to his top-end speed and explosive acceleration. Hill caught 479 passes for 6,630 yards and 56 touchdowns before the Chiefs traded him to the Miami Dolphins in March 2022.

The five-time first-team All-Pro is more than two years removed from his career-best season, when he posted 1,799 yards on 119 receptions and 13 touchdowns in 2023. Hill is currently recovering from a torn ACL sustained during the Dolphins' win over the New York Jets on Sept. 29.

Rumors about Hill returning to Kansas City for a second stint have surfaced amid concerns over the club's pass-catching group. Marquise Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster are set to hit free agency. Additionally, Reid declined Friday to comment on the status of Rashee Rice, who's facing a civil lawsuit in Texas from an ex-girlfriend alleging he repeatedly assaulted her.

Star tight end Travis Kelce also hasn't confirmed his return for a 14th season, though Reid shared that he's been in touch with the 11-time Pro Bowler.

"There is communication," Reid said. "That's the main thing. I've said this before, as long as there's communication, I'm good. That means people want to move forward. I think that's where Travis is."
