The Green Bay Packers are hiring Jonathan Gannon as defensive coordinator, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pellissero.

Gannon will replace Jeff Hafley after he took the Miami Dolphins' head coaching job. The Arizona Cardinals fired Gannon in January after a three-year run as their head coach.

The 43-year-old went 15-36 during his tenure with the Cardinals. Gannon's defenses in Arizona struggled, ranking 30th in EPA/play and 32nd in success rate from 2023-25, according to Ben Baldwin's database.

However, Gannon saw success as the Philadelphia Eagles' defensive coordinator before taking the Cardinals' job. During his two seasons in Philly, the Eagles' defense allowed the second-fewest yards per play (5.0) and third-fewest passing yards per contest. Philly's defense under Gannon led the league with 70 sacks in 2022 en route to Super Bowl LVII.

Gannon will be the fourth defensive coordinator to work under head coach Matt LaFleur since he took the job in 2019. Hafley, who departs after two years in Green Bay, helped the Packers rank 11th in points and yards per game allowed in 2025.
