Report: Chiefs fear Minshew tore ACL vs. Titans
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Gardner Minshew is believed to have torn his ACL during Sunday's 26-9 loss to the Tennessee Titans, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Minshew headed to the locker room in the second quarter and didn't return. If the injury is confirmed by further tests, the occurrence would mark back-to-back games in which a Chiefs signal-caller suffered a season-ending knee injury. Patrick Mahomes underwent surgery Monday to repair a torn ACL. Mahomes also reportedly had a torn LCL repaired then.
Minshew, 29, was making his first start of the season. He finished the contest completing 3 of 8 passes for 15 yards. Chris Oladokun, a 2022 seventh-round pick out of South Dakota State, finished the game at quarterback for Kansas City.
The Chiefs promoted Oladokun to the active roster Saturday. His only prior NFL game action came in Week 18 of last season, when he had just one carry for five yards in a 38-0 loss to the Denver Broncos.
Kansas City is heading into a short week, as it faces Denver on Christmas Day.
