Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray's recovery from a foot injury hasn't progressed and he'll miss the rest of the 2025 season, head coach Jonathan Gannon said Friday, according to team reporter Darren Urban.

Jacoby Brissett, who has started the last seven contests, will likely get the call for the final five games of the campaign, including Sunday's matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.

Murray recently underwent tests that confirmed his injury is season-ending, Gannon added. The coach wouldn't comment on whether Murray will be with the Cardinals in 2026, according to Urban.

Arizona placed Murray on injured reserve in early November, sidelining him for at least four contests. Doctors told the 28-year-old that he would miss anywhere from four-to-eight weeks and risked a setback if he didn't wait for the injury to heal properly, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Nov. 4, citing sources.

Murray started the first five games of the year and went 2-3, throwing for 962 yards with six touchdowns and four turnovers. Dating back to the start of the 2022 campaign, Murray has now missed 27 games due to injury.

The former first overall pick is under contract through 2028 with cap hits of $43 million or more in each of the next three seasons. He signed a five-year, $230-million extension in July 2022.

Murray has gone 38-48-1 in 87 career starts since entering the league with just one playoff appearance.

Arizona is 3-9 heading into Sunday's game against the Rams and has already been eliminated from postseason contention.
