Eagles' Patullo: Egging of house 'crosses the line'
Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo believes people crossed a line by egging his house following the Eagles' 24-15 loss to the Chicago Bears on Black Friday.
A video shared on social media showed multiple people appearing to throw objects at Patullo's New Jersey home. The Moorestown Police Department later confirmed the objects were eggs, according to ESPN's Tim McManus. Police are still investigating the incident, which occurred early Saturday morning.
"It's perfectly acceptable to sit up here and talk about what's going on, how to fix it, what we're going to do going forward, and we know that," Patullo told reporters Wednesday. "But when it involves your family, obviously it crosses the line. And so, that happened. At this point, we've just gotta move on. We're trying to win. That's all we want to do is focus - whether it's my family, whether it's the team - all we're trying to do together is focus on this week."
Patullo has come under fire amid the Eagles' struggles on offense. The reigning Super Bowl champions are in the bottom half of the league, averaging 304.8 yards (24th in the NFL) and 22.5 points per game.
A member of head coach Nick Sirianni's staff dating back to 2021, Patullo was promoted from passing game coordinator to OC in the offseason after Kellen Moore became head coach of the New Orleans Saints.
Sirianni reiterated to reporters earlier Wednesday that Patullo would remain the offensive play-caller after evaluating the team over the weekend.
The coordinator noted that he and his family have received a lot of support from the community after the egging.
"We've had a great experience here in Philadelphia. It's a very special, unique place to work," Patullo said.
The Eagles (8-4) will try to stop their two-game losing skid against the Los Angeles Chargers (8-4) on Monday Night Football.
