Report: Cardinals, Sweat to ink 4-year, $76.4M contract
The Arizona Cardinals are inking former Philadelphia Eagles pass-rusher Josh Sweat to a four-year deal worth $76.4 million, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Sweat's new contract will contain $41 million in guaranteed money, Schefter adds.
The soon-to-be 28-year-old is coming off a breakout performance in the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs with 2.5 sacks on Patrick Mahomes.
Sweat will reunite in Arizona with his former defensive coordinator, Jonathan Gannon.
He's put up at least four sacks in each of his last six seasons. Sweat reached eight sacks in 2024, along with nine tackles for a loss.
Sweat's best season came in 2022 when he hit 11 sacks. He was also named to the Pro Bowl in 2021 after a 7.5-sack campaign.
The Cardinals desperately needed pass-rush help after no one on the team recorded over five sacks last season.
