Vikings re-sign Aaron Jones to reported 2-year, $20M deal
The Minnesota Vikings announced a new deal for running back Aaron Jones on Sunday.
Jones reportedly signed a two-year, $20-million contract that includes $13 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Jones posted a career-high 1,138 rushing yards while adding five touchdowns after signing a one-year deal with the Vikings last March. He added 51 catches for 408 receiving yards and two scores in 2024.
The 30-year-old joined Minnesota after spending seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers where he racked up 8,016 scrimmage yards and 63 total touchdowns. Jones helped the Vikings to a 14-3 record last year before losing to the Los Angeles Rams in the playoffs.
Ty Chandler is the only other tailback under contract with the team for next season. Cam Akers will be a free agent this month.
Minnesota provides some stability to a backfield that will see quarterback Sam Darnold become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Cam Robinson and Byron Murphy are among other starters set to explore the open market ahead of the legal tampering period.
