What the odds say: Could Adams return to Green Bay in free agency?
The Davante Adams-Aaron Rodgers experiment in New York was short-lived. After 11 games together, the Jets are moving on from both players.
Adams was released Tuesday by the Jets and is now free to sign wherever he likes. The star wideout proved he has plenty of gas left in the tank, putting together a strong closing stretch with 576 receiving yards and six touchdowns in New York's final six games.
You'd have to think most NFL teams would be interested in the 32-year-old's services, especially if Adams' contract demands aren't too high. But at this stage of his career, Adams will likely prefer a contender, shrinking the list of potential suitors.
The Green Bay Packers have Super Bowl aspirations and are the +225 favorites (30.8% implied probability) to sign Adams in free agency at theScore Bet/ESPN Bet. Adams played eight seasons in Green Bay before he was traded to Las Vegas in 2022.
The Packers' wide receiver room is crowded, but Green Bay lacks a true No. 1 option for Jordan Love. Returning to Green Bay for a couple of late Super Bowl runs would be a fitting end to Adams' career.

Adams is a California native, and it's believed he would prefer to sign with a West Coast team. For this reason, the Los Angeles Chargers, San Francisco 49ers, and Los Angeles Rams are the next three teams on the odds board.
The Chargers haven't been able to supply Justin Herbert with a threat on the outside, and adding Adams would be a great complement for Ladd McConkey, who operates primarily out of the slot. The Chargers also have plenty of cap space to make an Adams contract work.
The 49ers traded Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders and might be looking for a replacement. However, Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings are already on the roster and squeezing Adams into the mix could be a tough task.
Lastly, the Rams are looking to trade away Cooper Kupp, creating an opening for Adams to fill. But moving on from one aging wide receiver who's beloved by the fans and franchise simply to add a similar type of player seems redundant.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, and New England Patriots are all in the wide receiver market. All three teams need more playmakers and would love to add a veteran wideout to help their young quarterbacks (Justin Fields appears likely to be the Steelers' starter next season).
All that said, the Rodgers angle still looms. Rodgers brought Adams to the Jets and could do the same thing if he signs another contract. The New York Giants are -145 favorites to sign Rodgers on theScore Bet/ESPN Bet, while they are +1200 to be Adams' next team.
Finally, the Dallas Cowboys are +3500 long shots but could desperately use Adams to run alongside CeeDee Lamb, who recently reworked his contract to create cap space for Dallas. Jerry Jones isn't afraid to make a splash, and if they have the money, Adams in Big D would give the Cowboys a lethal 1-2 duo for Dak Prescott.
