Colts' Richardson ruled out vs. Giants
The Indianapolis Colts will be without quarterback Anthony Richardson for Sunday's game against the New York Giants due to back and foot injuries, the team announced Saturday.
Richardson didn't practice all week, though the Colts initially labeled him as questionable. The quarterback is reportedly suffering from back spasms, according to ESPN's Stephen Holder.
Head coach Shane Steichen described the injury as soreness Friday.
With Richardson out, Joe Flacco is expected to start under center. Flacco made four starts earlier this season after the Colts benched Richardson, though the veteran registered a 1-3 record.
Richardson has completed 47.7% of his passes for eight touchdowns and 12 interceptions this season. He's produced a 61.6 passer rating.
The 7-8 Colts are hanging on in the AFC's playoff race after the Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Denver Broncos in overtime Saturday.
