Chargers place Dobbins on IR with knee injury
The Los Angeles Chargers placed running back J.K. Dobbins on injured reserve with a knee injury, the team announced Saturday.
Dobbins sustained an MCL sprain during the Chargers' loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
The 25-year-old will miss at least the next four games. The Chargers are expected to turn to veteran Gus Edwards as the starting running back in Dobbins' absence. Rookie Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins could also see more touches moving forward.
Dobbins was enjoying a strong season in his first season with the Chargers. He racked up 766 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns in 11 games.
Dobbins has navigated injuries throughout his career, missing large chunks of time due to knee and Achilles issues over the past few years.
