The Washington Commanders released cornerback Emmanuel Forbes, the club announced Saturday.
The Commanders selected Forbes with the No. 16 pick in the 2023 draft.
Forbes was inactive for the team's 34-26 loss to the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday. He's tallied seven tackles, a pass deflection, and an interception in six appearances this season.
The 23-year-old appeared in 14 games with six starts as a rookie under former head coach Ron Rivera.
The Commanders also placed running back Austin Ekeler on injured reserve Saturday. The 29-year-old sustained a concussion late in the team's loss to Dallas. He'll miss at least four games on the reserve list.
