Ravens' Harbaugh calls out Tucker after loss: He 'needs to make kicks'

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh called out Justin Tucker after the veteran kicker missed two field goals in Sunday's 18-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"Tuck needs to make kicks, and he knows that. It's important," Harbaugh said postgame, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.

Tucker hit only one of his three field-goal attempts Sunday. The first miss came late in the first quarter from 47 yards when the Ravens trailed 3-0.

He then went wide left on a 50-yard attempt on the Ravens' next offensive drive. However, Tucker rebounded to drain a 54-yard try to pull Baltimore within two points with just over six minutes remaining in the third quarter.

The Ravens scored a touchdown with a little over a minute left in regulation but failed on the two-point attempt to tie the contest. Pittsburgh iced the game on the next drive after needing just one first down.

Baltimore is 7-4 and 1.5 games back of the Steelers in the AFC North following the loss.

"(Tucker) makes them in practice. He made the long one later, which is good to see. It means he's still very capable. Kick 'em straight, and we'll be good," Harbaugh added.

Tucker is 16 for 22 on field-goal attempts this season. He entered Sunday with the seventh-worst field-goal percentage among kickers with 10-plus attempts this campaign. Tucker missed five field goals all last year.

The 34-year-old said after the game that his confidence hasn't suffered, and he still feels he can make every kick, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

Tucker was the most accurate kicker in NFL history heading into the 2024 campaign.
