Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor is vowing to stick up for his quarterback after two critical missed penalties on Thursday Night Football.

"I've got to fight harder for Joe (Burrow) to get some of that," Taylor told reporters Friday, including ESPN's Ben Baby. "He doesn't want to (ask for penalties). He doesn't want to disrupt from his flow in the game."

He added: "You don't want to lose him on a (hit) that's well after the play's over."

Officials twice missed Burrow getting hit in the facemask on the Bengals' final possession against the Baltimore Ravens, including on Cincinnati's failed two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter. Referees also missed a potential defensive holding call on the play as tight end Tanner Hudson attempted to catch the pass.

"We knew what situation we were in. You're not getting those calls in that situation for the most part," Burrow told reporters postgame, including CBS' Jeff Kerr.

Burrow was sacked three times and hit another 13 during the 35-34 loss. He still managed four touchdowns, 428 passing yards, and zero interceptions.

The 4-6 Bengals will face the Los Angeles Chargers next week during Sunday Night Football.
