Chiefs' Worthy: Colts 'hung up the phone in my face' on draft night
Xavier Worthy had an interesting interaction with the Indianapolis Colts before being selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
During a recent appearance on "The Rich Eisen Show," the rookie wide receiver revealed that the Colts called him on draft night and then abruptly hung up on him.
"Draft day was crazy," Worthy said. "I had got a call at like (pick) 15, 16, I think it was the Colts, hung up the phone in my face. It was a little crazy ... They said, 'Hello, this is so and so with the Colts.' And then the call, they stopped talking and then they hung up."
When asked if he's sure there wasn't a disconnection on the Colts' end, Worthy responded, "I'm positive."
The Colts drafted edge rusher Laiatu Latu with the No. 15 pick, while Worthy went to the Chiefs at No. 28 overall.
Through seven games this season, Worthy has 19 catches for 235 yards and three touchdowns.
