<p>Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has an admirer in <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/345" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/345">Kevin Durant</a>.</p><p>The Phoenix Suns star lauded Tomlin's leadership abilities while appearing on the "<a href="https://x.com/UpAndAdamsShow/status/1867327214486016194">Up &amp; Adams</a>" show Thursday, saying he's "most definitely" the kind of coach he'd like to play for. </p><p>"Just from the outside looking in, obviously I don't know much about coach Tomlin, but I try to listen to his interviews and postgame pressers," Durant told Kay Adams. "Just whenever he talks, I try to pay attention.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>"He seems like somebody you wanna play for, give your all for every single day. He cares about his players, he cares about the moments that he's in. He just appreciates where he is. He seems like a great dude to play for."</p><p>Durant also named Tomlin as one of the NFL coaches who he thinks would make the best NBA coach, along with the San Francisco 49ers' Kyle Shanahan and the Minnesota Vikings' Kevin O'Connell.</p><p>"High-energy guys, but also guys that got a little experience," he said. <p>The Dallas Cowboys have had their struggles this season, but Jerry Jones' team remains a money-making machine.</p><p>The Cowboys came in at No. 1 on <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/brettknight/2024/12/12/the-worlds-50-most-valuable-sports-teams-2024/">Forbes</a>' list of the world's 50 most valuable sports franchises of 2024 with an estimated valuation of $10.1 billion, up 12% from the previous year. It marks the ninth straight year that Dallas has claimed the top spot on the list.</p><p>The Golden State Warriors were No. 2 at $8.8 billion, followed by the Los Angeles Rams ($7.6 billion), New York Yankees ($7.55 billion), and New York Knicks ($7.5 billion). </p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The NFL dominated the list, with 29 of its 32 franchises appearing in the top 50. <p>Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr didn't feel the most welcome stepping onto the court at Toyota Center for Wednesday's NBA Cup matchup against the Houston Rockets.</p><p>Kerr joked ahead of the game that the red court made him feel as though he was entering the netherworld. </p><p>"I told one of the coaches that it felt like I was descending into the depths of hell," Kerr said, per <a href="https://x.com/JTGatlin/status/1867015388296360197">Jackson Gatlin of Locked On Rockets</a>. "Deep red hue on the floor, it's a little disconcerting. I thought I had been better in my life. I didn't think I deserved that fate."</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The Rockets defeated the Warriors 91-90 to advance to the NBA Cup semifinals in Las Vegas, where they'll face the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was the Rockets' first win against the Warriors since Feb. 20, 2020.</p><p>Golden State will be back in action Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks.</p>

<p>Several memorabilia items and watches from Tom Brady's personal collection were auctioned off for millions Tuesday. </p><p>Sotheby's <a href="https://x.com/Sothebys/status/1866750135763443964">announced</a> that its "The GOAT Collection: Watches and Treasures from Tom Brady" auction brought in a combined total of $9 million, drawing more than 800 participants from 45 countries. </p><p>Among the <a href="https://www.sothebys.com/en/buy/auction/2024/the-goat-collection-watches-treasures-from-tom-brady">items</a> up for grabs in the auction were Brady's NFL combine shirt, a game-worn helmet from his final season with the New England Patriots, his Super Bowl XXXIX championship-clinching cleats, and the Michigan jersey he wore in the 2000 FedEx Orange Bowl.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>"What's amazing about a jersey is you wear it all season," Brady told <a href="https://www.sothebys.com/en/articles/a-champions-collection-tom-brady-on-selling-his-watches-and-memorabilia?locale=en&amp;cmp=msofb,li,tw">James Haldane of Sotheby's</a>. "It has blood, sweat, tears, and incredible memories embedded in the fabric.</p><p>"My Orange Bowl jersey is particularly special to me. This win and performance springboarded me into a 23-year NFL career, now broadcasting and hopefully NFL ownership. Looking back, this was the defining moment in my college career."</p><p>The most expensive item sold in the lot was a yellow gold Daytona Paul Newman "John Player Special" watch that Brady was wearing when Patriots owner Robert Kraft announced that he would be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame. </p>

<p>Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/121761" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/121761">Quincy Olivari</a> offered some words of encouragement to <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/148" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/148">Stephen Curry</a> amid the Golden State Warriors' recent slump. </p><p>Olivari shared the advice he gave Curry while speaking to reporters Sunday, which included a light-hearted jab at the Warriors star's dance moves. </p><p>"I reached out to him last week before they played Houston, and I was just like, 'They talking about blah, blah, blah, the Warriors, and, you know, y'all haven't won,'" Olivari told <a href="https://x.com/ClaireMPLS/status/1866186443975971075">The Guardian's Claire de Lune</a>.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>"So I just sent him a text, I was like, 'Yo bro, I believe in you. I said, 'So when you go out there tomorrow' - because I thought he was playing against the Rockets, but it ended up being the Timberwolves - I said, 'When you got out there, do that little shimmy you do, 'cause you don't got no rhythm, but at least try your best to do it.' And he laughed at it and said, 'I'mma try my best.'</p><p>But it's just light-hearted texts just about having fun and reminding me that this is just basketball. Go out there, have fun, shoot the threes, and give them a show."</p><p>Olivari joined the Lakers on a two-way contract after going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft. He grew up idolizing Curry and recently signed an endorsement deal with Curry Brand.</p><p>The 23-year-old made his NBA debut Sunday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, finishing with three points.</p>

<p>The blockbuster boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul led to a lot of Google searches this year.</p><p>Tyson and Paul were among the top-five most searched athletes globally on Google in 2024, coming in at No. 2 and No. 5 respectively, according to <a href="https://trends.withgoogle.com/year-in-search/2024/">trends data</a> released by the technology company. </p><p>Fellow boxer Imane Khelif was the top-searched athlete of the year, while Barcelona star Lamine Yamal and Olympic gymnast Simone Biles took the No. 3 and No. 4 spots.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>In the United States, Tyson ranked as the No. 1 most-searched athlete of the year and Paul again took the No. 5 spot. </p><p>The 58-year-old Tyson and 27-year-old Paul squared off Nov. 15 in an eight-round bout at AT&amp;T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
