Colts' Taylor to miss 2nd consecutive game, Richardson on pace to play
Running back Jonathan Taylor will miss the Indianapolis Colts' Week 6 matchup with the Tennessee Titans due to an ankle injury, the team announced Friday.
Meanwhile, quarterback Anthony Richardson is on pace to return to the lineup after missing the Colts' last game with an oblique injury, according to ESPN's Stephen Holder.
It's the second consecutive game Taylor will miss after the ailment sidelined him for the team's Week 5 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Taylor eclipsed 100 scrimmage yards in his last three outings. He's tallied 349 rushing yards, 77 receiving yards, and four touchdowns in four games this season.
Trey Sermon is expected to lead the backfield. He had 10 carries against the Jaguars and turned those rushes into 38 yards and a touchdown.
Tyler Goodson is the only other healthy running back on the active roster. Evan Hull and Trent Pennix are on the club's practice squad.
Richardson missed the game against the Jaguars after exiting the team's Week 4 contest. He's thrown for 654 yards, three touchdowns, and six interceptions this season, while adding 141 rushing yards and a score on the ground.
Joe Flacco replaced the Florida product in the starting lineup against the Jaguars but will return to the bench if the latter is able to play. The veteran had 359 yards and three touchdowns last week.
