Colts place Buckner on IR due to ankle injury
The Indianapolis Colts have placed defensive lineman DeForest Buckner on injured reserve due to an ankle injury, the team announced Tuesday.
Bucker will miss at least the next four games. He suffered an ankle sprain in the second half of the club's Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers and was carted to the locker room.
The 30-year-old was questionable entering the game due to a back injury and didn't practice all week.
X-rays were negative on Buckner's ankle, and the team doesn't believe it to be a severe injury, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Buckner has only missed one game with the Colts since being acquired in 2020. The Oregon product has secured one All-Pro nomination and two Pro Bowl nods with Indianapolis, racking up 34 sacks and six forced fumbles.
