The Dallas Cowboys are in no rush to reach a long-term contract extension with disgruntled All-Pro receiver CeeDee Lamb, according to team owner Jerry Jones.

"I don't have any urgency to get it done," Jones said Thursday, per Jon Machota of The Athletic.

Lamb didn't join the Cowboys at mandatory minicamp and has been holding out of training camp as he negotiates a new deal. The 25-year-old only has one season left on his rookie contract, which includes a $17.9-million salary in 2024.

Lamb addressed Jones' comments Thursday on social media:

The Cowboys have also tried to extend quarterback Dak Prescott, who's entering his contract year. However, the team reportedly started to prioritize Lamb's deal over Prescott's in July.

Jones said Dallas' negotiations with Lamb are progressing well.

"We're getting great work (done) and making real progress," Jones said, according to team reporter Nick Harris. "I don't think (we're) losing a step with where we are now."

Prescott recently revealed that Lamb told him he's "ready to get back."

A first-round pick in 2020, Lamb led the NFL with 135 receptions in 2023 while setting career highs with 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. The three-time Pro Bowler was also the most-targeted receiver in the league with 181 targets.

In July, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones admitted "it's a challenge" for the club to extend all of its star players. All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons is also eligible to sign an extension ahead of his fourth NFL season.
