The highly anticipated Super Bowl rematch between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs will take place in Week 7 on Oct. 20 at 4:25 p.m. ET, reports Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.

Fox Sports will reportedly air the matchup from Levi's Stadium with Tom Brady in the broadcast booth. Brady - who grew up in the Bay Area as a 49ers fan - defeated Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in 2021.

Kansas City won its second straight Super Bowl title this past season by defeating San Francisco 25-22 in overtime thanks to a Mecole Hardman walk-off touchdown grab. It was the second time in five years that the 49ers and Chiefs met in a Super Bowl; Mahomes lifted the Lombardi Trophy for the first time with a triumph over the Niners in February 2020.

Mahomes has posted a 2-0 record with six touchdown passes to one interception in two regular-season meetings with San Francisco. The teams' last non-Super Bowl bout came in October 2022 when the Chiefs claimed a 44-23 victory.

NFL teams will officially release their 2024 schedules Wednesday. The league, however, has already announced multiple high-profile matchups.

The Chiefs kick off the regular season Sept. 5 against the Baltimore Ravens. Aaron Rodgers will make his return from an Achilles injury at Levi's Stadium in Week 1 as the 49ers host the New York Jets in the campaign's Monday Night Football opener.
