McCaffrey headed for MRI after hamstring injury vs. Texans
Christian McCaffrey is scheduled to undergo an MRI after exiting the Carolina Panthers' 24-9 victory against the Houston Texans with a hamstring injury, head coach Matt Rhule announced after Thursday's game, according to Joe Person of The Athletic.
McCaffrey suffered the injury on a carry during the second quarter. He went to the sideline and was examined in the medical tent before being ruled out for the remainder of the game.
The star running back finished the game with seven carries for 31 yards. He also added nine receiving yards on two catches.
McCaffrey entered the Week 3 contest leading the NFL with 324 yards from scrimmage. The 25-year-old is looking for a rebound season after being limited to just three games during an injury-riddled 2020 campaign.
