Former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is transferring to Miami, he announced Friday.

Beck, a starter at Georgia in the past two seasons, originally announced that he'd enter the 2025 NFL Draft but changed his mind and entered the transfer portal Thursday.

Miami immediately emerged as a top candidate to land Beck, who was also linked to Texas Tech and Ohio State.

The signal-caller helped the Bulldogs reach the SEC title game this campaign but suffered an elbow injury at the end of the first half against Texas. He underwent season-ending surgery in December and is expected to resume throwing in the spring.

Beck posted his best year at Georgia in 2023 after leading the SEC in completions (302) and passing yards (3,941). He also completed 72.4% of his passes with 24 touchdowns against six interceptions, emerging as a potential top quarterback prospect for the NFL draft.

However, Beck took a step back in 2024, finishing the season with a 64.7% completion rate to go along with 3,485 yards and 28 touchdowns to 12 interceptions, the most in the SEC.

Miami senior quarterback Cam Ward is one of the top prospects ahead of April's NFL draft. He led the nation with 39 touchdown passes in 2024.

Beck's path to Miami is similar to Ward's - the latter also declared for the NFL draft after two seasons at Washington State before deciding to spend another year in college football and joining the Hurricanes.
