LSU lands commitment from 5-star Pickett
Five-star athlete D.J. Pickett announced his commitment to LSU on Wednesday.
Pickett chose the Tigers over Oregon and Miami.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound Pickett is rated as the No. 1 athlete and No. 14 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class by the ESPN 300. He's a two-way star at Zephyrhillis High School, where he plays both wide receiver and defensive back. Other recruiting outlets project the Florida native to begin his collegiate career in the defensive secondary.
"LSU is DBU," Pickett told ESPN's Eli Lederman. "Playing defensive back there is a blessed spot to be in.”
The Tigers have now secured verbal pledges from two five-star talents in the 2025 cycle. Pickett joins No. 1 overall recruit Bryce Underwood among pledges set to attend LSU.
LSU's current recruiting class boasts 12 commits from the ESPN 300 with the addition of Pickett. The Tigers' 2025 prospects are headlined by Underwood and No. 1-rated running back Harlem Berry.
