Karaban returning to UConn for senior season
UConn forward Alex Karaban is returning to Storrs for his senior season, he announced Tuesday.
Karaban originally submitted his name to the NBA as an early entry candidate for the 2025 draft, but he was not included on the official list Tuesday. He also tested the draft process last year.
The 22-year-old averaged 14.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.5 blocks in 2024-25. In three campaigns with the Huskies, he has knocked down 37.5% of his 3-point attempts.
Karaban won back-to-back NCAA championships in 2023 and 2024. UConn was eliminated in the Round of 32 by eventual national champion Florida in the most recent March Madness.
Three of the team's four leading scorers are returning next season: Karaban, Solo Ball, and Tarris Reed. UConn also added Georgia guard Silas Demary Jr. and Dayton guard Malachi Smith in the transfer portal.
