Ex-Auburn wing Baker-Mazara joins USC
Ex-Auburn wing Chad Baker-Mazara committed to USC, he announced Monday on social media.
Baker-Mazara spent the last two seasons with the Tigers. The 25-year-old played a key role on last season's Final Four squad, averaging 12.3 points and shooting 38.1% from distance across 38 appearances.
His strong performance earned Baker-Mazara All-SEC third-team honors and a finalist nod for the Julius Erving Award, which annually recognizes the top small forward in college basketball.
He also had stints with Duquesne, San Diego State, and Northwest Florida State. He was the Mountain West Conference's Sixth Man of the Year in 2022.
Baker-Mazara is the Trojans' seventh transfer addition this offseason.
A few hours after his post, Cal State Northridge transfer Keonte Jones announced he was no longer joining the Trojans.
"After much thought, I have decided to decommit from the University of Southern California. Thank you to USC for the opportunity," Jones wrote on social media.
USC went 17-18 in its first season under Eric Musselman and missed its second consecutive NCAA Tournament.
