The Boston Celtics and guard Payton Pritchard agreed to a two-year, $44.2-million extension that contains a mutual option in the 2029-30 season, his agent told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Pritchard has been a valuable piece for the Celtics in recent years. He was named the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year for the 2024-25 campaign after averaging 14.3 points per contest. He elevated his performance last season, putting up career highs of 17 points per game and 5.2 assists per game.
The 28-year-old was also a part of Boston's squad that won the Finals during the 2023-24 season.
The Celtics selected Pritchard with the 26th pick in the first round of the 2020 draft. He owns a career shooting percentage of 45.7%, including 39.4% from deep, while averaging 10.6 points per game. Pritchard has appeared in at least 79 regular-season games each of the last three years.
