Free-agent guard Coby White intends to return to the Charlotte Hornets on a three-year contract worth $74 million, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

The news of White's deal comes hours after the Hornets reportedly traded LaMelo Ball and Josh Green to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a blockbuster deal.

White, 26, split last season between the Chicago Bulls and Hornets, joining the latter at the February deadline in a trade that sent Collin Sexton to Chicago. After starting 26 of his 29 games with the Bulls, White exclusively came off the bench in Charlotte, averaging 15.6 points, three rebounds, and three assists in 21 appearances to help the Hornets finish ninth in the Eastern Conference and secure a play-in berth.

He put up 19 points while shooting 5-of-8 from deep during the Hornets' play-in victory over the Miami Heat. However, the Orlando Magic routed Charlotte the next game to grab the No. 8 seed, with White mustering just four points in the season-ending loss.

The seventh overall pick in 2019 spent the first six-and-a-half years of his career in Chicago. He started 251 of 472 games for the Bulls and tallied 15.4 points, 3.9 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game with 43.3/50.1/85.7 shooting splits.
