The Chicago Bulls signed All-Star guard Norman Powell to a two-year, $45-million contract, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
His deal includes a team option for the second season, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Sports Network.
Powell signs with the Bulls on the heels of a stellar season with the Miami Heat. He led Miami in scoring with 21.7 points on 47% shooting and earned his first All-Star selection in the process.
The 33-year-old was projected to be one of the top available free-agent guards after arguably the best season of his career. Powell is an elite 3-point shooter who's drained 40.8% of his attempts per game since the start of the 2018-19 campaign.
Powell can also be a difference-maker on the defensive end despite standing at just 6-foot-3. He ranks in the 79th percentile in perimeter isolation defense, according to Basketball Index.
