The Cleveland Cavaliers are signing former Real Madrid wing Mario Hezonja to a one-year, $2.8-million contract, his agent confirmed to ESPN's Shams Charania.
Hezonja, the fifth overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, returns to the Association after leaving for Europe in 2020.
The 6-foot-6 Croatian ranked second in scoring for Real Madrid with 13.2 points per game during the 2025-26 EuroLeague campaign. Though Real Madrid lost 92-85 to Greek club Olympiacos in May's EuroLeague final, Hezonja put up 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting with five assists and four rebounds in the championship.
Hezonja last suited up in the NBA during the 2019-20 season, appearing in 53 games for the Portland Trail Blazers and averaging 4.8 points and 3.5 rebounds. He played the first three seasons of his career with the Orlando Magic before spending 2018-19 with the New York Knicks.
