Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is switching his jersey number back to No. 6 next season, The Athletic's Shams Charania and Tim Cato report.
James, who wore the No. 6 jersey with the Miami Heat from 2010 to 2014 and Team USA at the Olympics, is reportedly moving on from No. 23 after the upcoming release of his movie "Space Jam: A New Legacy." James dons the No. 6 in the film, as well.
Anthony Davis, James' star teammate, is expected to keep his No. 3 jersey.
James reportedly offered to gift Davis his No. 23 jersey prior to the 2019-20 campaign, but the swap never went through due to Nike production issues. Davis previously wore No. 23 during his first seven NBA seasons in New Orleans.
