Kevin Durant and Mike Conley Jr. picked up some impressive hardware Sunday evening, but it wasn't on the basketball court.

The two NBA stars were executive producers on the short film "Two Distant Strangers," which won in the best live-action short film category at this year's Oscars.

The film depicts a Black man's repeated interaction with a violent police officer. The script was inspired by George Floyd's death last May.

"From the minute we saw the script for this project, we knew it had the potential to be very powerful, and we wanted to be involved," Durant told SLAM in February.

Durant and Conley aren't the first NBA players to win an Oscar. Kobe Bryant took home the award as a voice actor and executive producer of "Dear Basketball," 2018's winner for best animated short film.
