The National Basketball Coaches Association has established a committee on racial injustice and reform to pursue solutions within NBA cities, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, Golden State Warriors bench boss Steve Kerr, Atlanta Hawks coach Lloyd Pierce, and former NBA coaches David Fizdale and Stan Van Gundy were apparently among those enlisted to help craft an NBCA statement on the George Floyd killing.

"The events of the past few weeks - police brutality, racial profiling, and the weaponization of racism - are shameful, inhumane and intolerable," the statement read. "As a diverse group of leaders, we have a responsibility to stand up and speak out for those who don't have a voice - and to stand up and speak out for those who don't feel it is safe to do so.

"Witnessing the murder of George Floyd in cold blood and in broad daylight has traumatized our nation, but the reality is that African-Americans are targeted and victimized on a daily basis. As NBA coaches, we cannot treat this as an isolated incident of outrage."

The committee also reportedly includes the Cleveland Cavaliers' J.B. Bickerstaff and Quin Snyder of the Utah Jazz.

All 30 NBA head coaches participated in a conference call on the matter Saturday are planning another call Tuesday to discuss taking action in the league's cities, according to Wojnarowski.
