The Washington Wizards plan to make "an aggressive offer" to restricted free agent Otto Porter when free agency opens and are willing to match any offer for the 24-year-old forward, The Undefeated's Mike Wise reports.
Porter is coming off a breakout season with the Wizards, averaging 13.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on 51.6 percent shooting, while playing stellar defense on the other end of the floor.
Should they fail to retain Porter, Washington would struggle to find a comparable replacement for the 6-foot-8 forward, as the Wizards already have more than $91 million in guaranteed salaries for next season.
The Brooklyn Nets are reportedly expected to present Porter with a large offer sheet when free agency opens on Saturday.
