Tyron Woodley suffered a broken rib in his one-sided loss to Colby Covington in the main event of UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

The former welterweight champion was on the bottom of Covington in the fifth round when he yelled in pain and verbally submitted.

Woodley told ESPN's Ariel Helwani that his rib popped while he was going for a guillotine to help him stand up, and it also popped earlier in the fight.

"It was the most pain ever," Woodley said.

Covington ultimately won via fifth-round TKO but also dominated the first four frames.

Woodley, who held the UFC belt from 2016 to 2019, has lost three straight bouts. Covington, a former interim titleholder, rebounded from a loss to current champ Kamaru Usman in December.
