NEW YORK (AP) — New York Yankees starting pitcher Ryan Weathers left Saturday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays in the fourth inning because of left forearm discomfort.
The Yankees said Weathers will undergo further imaging.
With runners at first and second, Weathers threw a sweeper out of the strike zone to Myles Straw and felt pain.
After the pitch, Weathers circled the mound and called for catcher Austin Wells.
Manager Aaron Boone and a trainer came out to check on Weathers, and Yerry De Los Santos entered the game.
Acquired from the Marlins in January, Weathers has a 3.60 ERA in 25 starts this year. He allowed two runs and eight hits in 3 1/3 innings before leaving the game.
New York has had 15 players go on the injured list this season, including starting pitchers Max Fried and Carlos Rodón. Fried has missed 58 games with a pair of bone bruises in his left elbow and Rodón returned from a elbow injury on Tuesday.
