New York Yankees first baseman Ben Rice will make his Home Run Derby debut in Philadelphia ahead of the 2026 All-Star Game, he announced Tuesday.
Rice is the second confirmed entrant, joining Junior Caminero of the Tampa Bay Rays.
The left-handed hitting Rice has 25 homers this season, tied with the Minnesota Twins' Byron Buxton for fifth-most in the majors. Last year, Rice hit 26 home runs.
Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies leads MLB with 30 homers. He's competed in the Home Run Derby before but has yet to announce his status for the 2026 event.
The Home Run Derby takes place July 13 and will air on Netflix. This year's competition will see each participant get 20 swings in the first round, with MLB moving away from the clock format used in recent years.
