The 25-year-old exited with training staff and received stitches in his lower lip, Rays manager Kevin Cash said, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Cash added that Simpson is expected to play on Tuesday.
Simpson entered Monday's contest hitting .282 with 14 stolen bases for the first-place Rays.
