Spencer Jones is finally headed to the majors.

The New York Yankees called up Jones, the organization's top outfield prospect, from Triple-A on Friday.

Jones, who turns 25 next week, could make his MLB debut when New York visits the Milwaukee Brewers.

A former first-round pick (25th overall) out of Vanderbilt in 2022, Jones has rocketed through the Yankees' farm system and reached Triple-A last summer. He finished 2025 one steal shy of a combined 30-30 campaign across both Double-A and Triple-A.

The 6-foot-7, 240-pound outfielder was added to New York's 40-man roster over the winter and made a major impression during spring training, hitting six homers with a 1.526 OPS in Grapefruit League. Despite that production, the Yankees optioned Jones to Triple-A while Randal Grichuk, who was released last week, made the Opening Day roster.

In 142 plate appearances with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this year, Jones is hitting .258/.366/.592 with 11 homers and a Triple-A-best 41 RBIs, along with seven steals and 18 walks.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone praised the young outfielder's recent play.

"I feel like the last three, four weeks (he's) been having a lot of consistent at-bats, the power's been there, less swing-and-miss, which is some of the things we were seeing a little bit in spring training," Boone said Thursday after a 9-2 win over the Texas Rangers.

Meanwhile, Jasson Domínguez was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left shoulder AC joint sprain. He sustained the injury while crashing into the outfield wall during Thursday's game. It's unclear how long he'll be out.

With Domínguez and Giancarlo Stanton on the IL, Jones should get plenty of playing time in the outfield or at DH. The California native primarily plays center field but has experience manning all three outfield spots.

New York also recalled right-hander Kervin Castro from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 27-year-old reliever last appeared in the majors in 2022.
