The San Francisco Giants agreed to a one-year deal with right-hander Tyler Mahle, a source told ESPN's Jorge Castillo.
The deal's financials are unknown.
Mahle posted a 2.18 ERA and 3.37 FIP in 16 starts for the Texas Rangers last season, missing three months of the campaign with shoulder soreness.
The 31-year-old spent the past two seasons with the Rangers after pitching for the Cincinnati Reds and Minnesota Twins during the first eight years of his big-league career. Mahle's best campaign came in 2021, when he recorded a 3.75 ERA and 210 strikeouts across 33 starts for the Reds.
Mahle would join a potential Giants rotation featuring ace Logan Webb, Robbie Ray, Adrian Houser, and Landen Roupp in San Francisco.
