New York Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger hit three two-run home runs against his former team, the Chicago Cubs, on Friday.

Friday was the first time in Bellinger's career that he hit three homers in one game. He also became the first player in MLB history to hit three homers in his first game against a former team, according to Opta Stats.

Bellinger nearly had four round-trippers in the contest, but Kyle Tucker leaped over the right-field wall in the seventh inning to rob him of a homer.

"It was a great catch. I was watching it, and he timed it up perfect," Bellinger said of Tucker robbing him, according to SNY.

"I was a little sick about it, honestly, but it was a good catch."

The Cubs traded Bellinger to the Yankees in December.

He's having a terrific first campaign in New York, hitting .285/.340/.498 with 16 home runs, 54 RBIs, and nine steals in 86 games.

The Yankees defeated the Cubs 11-0 in the outing, which also featured eight shutout innings from left-hander Carlos Rodón and three terrific catches in the outfield from captain Aaron Judge.
