Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Daniel Hudson announced his retirement Wednesday night after winning his second World Series title.
"This was the only reason I came back - to go out on top," he said, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register. "And that's what's happening."
Hudson was tagged with the loss in Game 4 but was excellent across his other six postseason appearances.
The 37-year-old made Los Angeles' roster out of spring training after signing a minor-league deal in December.
Hudson also won the World Series as a member of the Washington Nationals in 2019. He delivered his signature moment with a scoreless ninth inning to close out the Houston Astros in Game 7.
The righty posted a 3.74 ERA (111 ERA+) during a 15-year career in which he also played for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago White Sox, San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Toronto Blue Jays.
