New York Yankees right-hander Marcus Stroman had no issue with the club's recent decision to move him to the bullpen.

"I have no ego nowadays, man," Stroman told The Athletic's Brendan Kuty. "I'm not this younger guy. I'm not 23-year-old me."

Stroman picked up a three-inning save on Sept. 17 against the Seattle Mariners, his first appearance out of the bullpen.

"I'm a realist," he said. "I realize the game's valued around swing-and-miss, especially going into the playoffs. That's not necessarily my forte. So, yeah, like I said, I know I can get outs in big moments with anybody. So I have that confidence. I know whenever you put me in a game, it's not like I'm ever doubtful. It's baseball. I can get anybody out at any moment."

Stroman signed a two-year, $37-million contract with the Yankees in the offseason. The 33-year-old owns a 10-8 record with a 4.04 ERA in 29 appearances (28 starts) this season.

The Yankees have settled on a rotation featuring Gerrit Cole, Luis Gil, Carlos Rodón, Clarke Schmidt, and Nestor Cortes.
